Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for cooking
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, or extra cheese
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, gently mix ground chicken, spinach, cheddar, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until combined.
2. Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape into patties about 1/2 inch thick. Press a small dent in the center of each patty. Chill for 15 minutes.
3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side until golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Add extra cheese on top in the last minute if desired.
4. Transfer patties to a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes.
5. Toast buns, assemble burgers with toppings, and serve warm.
Notes
Keep ingredients cold for easier shaping.
Do not overmix the ground chicken mixture.
Make patties slightly larger than buns since they shrink while cooking.
Use a thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Cooked patties store for 3 days in the fridge or 2 months in the freezer.
