Ingredients
- 1 bottle White Wine (750 ml, preferably a dry or semi-sweet variety like Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or Moscato)
- 2 cups Pineapple Juice (fresh or bottled, unsweetened recommended)
- 1 cup Coconut Rum (such as Malibu)
- 1 cup Pineapple Chunks (fresh or canned, drained)
- Maraschino Cherries (for garnish)
- Pineapple Slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Combine Ingredients
In a large pitcher, pour the white wine, pineapple juice, and coconut rum. Stir gently to combine the liquids well.
Step 2: Add the Fruit
Add the pineapple chunks directly into the pitcher. Give it another quick stir so the fruit distributes evenly throughout the mixture.
Step 3: Chill
Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least 2 hours — or even overnight if possible — to allow the flavors to meld and deepen.
Step 4: Prepare to Serve
Before serving, fill your glasses with plenty of ice cubes to keep the sangria cold and refreshing.
Step 5: Garnish and Enjoy
Pour the chilled sangria over the ice, making sure each glass gets some pineapple chunks. Garnish with maraschino cherries and a pineapple slice on the rim for a festive, tropical presentation.
Notes
- Wine Choice: A light, fruity wine works best. Avoid heavily oaked varieties like Chardonnay, which can overpower the tropical flavors.
- Make-Ahead: This sangria gets better the longer it chills, making it an excellent make-ahead party drink.
- Sweetness Level: If you prefer a sweeter sangria, you can add a tablespoon or two of simple syrup or a splash of coconut cream before chilling.
