Ingredients
2 cups full-fat plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup granulated sugar (or honey or maple syrup)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Dark chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)
Fresh strawberries or blueberries, for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Whisk together the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
2. Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract, then whisk until completely smooth and creamy.
3. Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness if needed.
4. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 1 hour.
5. Pour the mixture into a shallow freezer-safe container.
6. Freeze for 2 to 3 hours, stirring thoroughly every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals.
7. Once creamy and scoopable, serve immediately with dark chocolate shavings and fresh berries, or freeze a little longer for a firmer texture.
Notes
Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture.
Chill the mixture before freezing for smoother results.
Stir every 30 minutes to prevent large ice crystals.
Let the frozen yogurt sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes before scooping if frozen solid.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
