Ingredients
4 cups spring or filtered water
4 green tea bags or 4 tsp loose leaf green tea
1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
A few sprigs of fresh mint
Lemon slices and additional mint sprigs, for garnish
Ice, for serving
Instructions
1. Bring water to a gentle simmer in a medium pot, then remove from heat.
2. Add green tea bags and mint. Steep for 5 minutes, then remove the bags and mint.
3. In a blender, combine the steeped tea, blueberries, honey, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
5. Chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
6. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint.
Notes
Do not over-steep the green tea, or it may become bitter.
Frozen blueberries work perfectly and help chill the tea faster.
For a pulp-free texture, use a nut milk bag to double strain.
Add sliced ginger during steeping for a spicier twist.
Top with sparkling water for a fizzy version.
